Hello Followers,

Word Press, 2010, Earth Album, viewed 02 September 2010http://www.earthalbum.com/

Earth Album is a fantastic Flickr Mashup it combines Google Maps with Flickr to give it users access to some of the most stunning photographs in the world. Its like going on a trip round the world without leaving your house! Arm chair travelling just got even better!!
The fact that it is updated regularly makes it very authoritative however anyone can add to Earth Album. all the photographs have been taken by various Earth Album user on holidays round the world. the are many Earth Album Flickr groups such as http://www.earthalbum.com/flickrgroup/i_ate_this which has photographs of food from all over the world.
Earth Album is very easy to use all you have to do is click on a country e.g "Australia" to see photos of that country. The resolution of the photos is fantastic. For an example the photos of food look so good that they make you hungry!!
I would definitely recommend having a look at Earth Album:)

Critical evaluation of a You Tube Video

Hello again my Favourite Followers

For you I now present my Critical evaluation of a You Tube video.

Sesamestreet (2008) Sesamestreet: Cookie Monster In The Library date viewed 6 July 2010 www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3ZHPJT2Kp4
The target audience for this video is preschool children but it can be enjoyed by older children and adults alike.
In this video viewers receive a humours insight into visiting a library for the first time and what the client (Cookie Monster) perceives the Library to contain.
The authority for this video is Sesamestreet which as an educational children's program makes this an authoritative video. This Video is highly amusing and a great way to introduce young children to libraries.
It also shows how not to deal with a frustrating client!
all in all this video is well worth a look for both children and adults.

hope it makes you laugh

see you soon

Faranks, M. 2010 Library Success: A Best practices wiki viewed on 23/06/2010
http://www.libsuccess.org/

This wiki is a great source of information for anyone working in the library industry. Library Success: A Best Practices Wiki was created by Meredith Faranks as a place to collect and organise information being shared by librarians all over the world. Meredith Faranks is a librarian, a teacher and a writer which makes her an excellent authority. Anyone can add or edit the topics of the wiki however as the target audience is librarians I think its safe to say its authoritative.
some of the topics covered by this wiki are books, librarianship, Management and Leadership just to name a few! this wiki is a fantastic source of information on the libraries. If I was you I would definitely check it out

Critical evaluation of a blog

Hello everyone hope you had a great Easter! here is my critical evaluation of a blog.

Getz, S. J. Lieberman, M. and Mattoon, N. 2010 Book patrol a haven for book culture viewed 11 April 2010 http://www.bookpatrol.net/

When I stumbled across this blog it intrigued me; Book Patrol is as the title suggests is a blog devoted to books and book culture. the authority for this blog is Michael Lieberman who has co-owned Wessel & Lieberman book Sellers since 1992, has served on the board of the friends of the Seattle Public Library. Mr Lieberman is also a member of the national Book Critics Circle. i think this make him a very good authority for this blog.
There are so many categories for you to browse through I can't list them but there is Banned Books United States Education Reading High School Library Yahoo Censorship (1), ABC's of Book Collecting (23), and 1910 Paris Flood (1) just to name a few. there are also some great links to things like where you can buy antique books. no matter what sort of books you are interested in I am sure you will find some article in this blog that will tickle your fancy the other important thing about this blog is that is easy to use!! I would defiantly recommend take a look.

until next time happy blogging my faithful followers.
